I own most of the YSL Rive Gauche clones (around 7) and this is the closest Rive Gauche clone out there. I own actual cans of Rive Gauche to be compare it side by side and have done so. Initially the opening is harsher for this cologne, while Rive Gauche is very smooth, but after 30 mins it transitions into Rive Gauche. It’s smooth and creamy Barbasol shaving cream/foam vibe after 30 mins. I love it. I ordered multiple bottles of this so I don’t run out for a while.
The only complaint is the shipping price. it’s simply ridiculous. There has to be better and cheaper option that DHL for international shipping? If this brand fails internationally/is failing internationally to get exposure is because of the ridiculous shipping price. You fix this and this brand will explode in the west as more reviewers can afford it and post reviews on Youtube and start hype trains that translates into more sales.

I never had a chance to smell the OG but, for me that isn’t important. I prefer fragrances that are older because they suit my style. My collection is full of Acqua Di Parma and manly scents. I love aromatic fougeres which is why I selected this one. I don’t think this is a scent for younger guys looking for vanilla and lots of sweetness but, this one is lovely. I have found Athena’s fragrances to be high quality and long lasting. This one isn’t a beast mode projector but, thats not what the scent was designed to be. It does project and you will smell very different from the crowd to be sure. I can’t speak to the resemblance to the OG but, I can say that it is what i was hoping for on its own.
